God is real.
“In the beginning God…” (Genesis 1:1)
“Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God.” (Psalms 90:2)
God is the Creator and King of the universe.
“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.” (Hebrews 11:3)
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11)
All people are sinners without exemption.
“All… are under sin… None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” (Romans 3:9-12)
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23)
God will punish sinners in hell forever.
“We were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.” (Ephesians 2:3)
“He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of His power…” (2 Thess. 1:9)
Jesus is God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:1-3)
But God says about the Son (Jesus), “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever… You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of Your hands; they will perish, but You remain… You are the same, and Your years will have no end.” (Heb. 1:6-12)
God the Son became man.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” (John 1: 14)
“Jesus Christ, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” (Phil. 2:6-8)
Jesus died to save sinners.
“He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him… The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6)
“Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)
Jesus is alive!
“Christ… was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time… Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all He appeared to me also…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-8)
“But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have died. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man…” (1 Corinthians 15:20-22)
Good works cannot save.
“All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags…” (Isaiah 64:6)
“Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.” (Romans 3:20)
“All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’” (Galatians 3:10)
It only takes faith to be saved.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:31)
“Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (John 3:18)
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)
True faith is accompanied by repentance.
“God commands all people everywhere to repent…” (Acts 17:30)
“No one who abides in Him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen Him or known Him… Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil… No one born of God makes a practice of sinning… he cannot keep on sinning… By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.” (1 John 3:6-10)
