Worst Flood in Our City

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports:

“At least 278 people — many of them children and women — have been confirmed killed by floods and landslides spawned by Tropical Storm Sendong (international codename: Washi) and authorities feared the number could climb some more as search efforts continued late Saturday afternoon, officials said.”

Our city (Cagayan de Oro) was the center of the storm’s path. Here, “95 people were confirmed dead” and “some 20,000 people were being assisted in at least 10 evacuation centers.”

Please pray for the victims. Many homes were devastated. No electricity, no water, no food in many areas. Six families in our church were affected. Two families have been evacuated and are now staying in Pastor Glem’s home. Tomorrow and in the days to come, we will help deal with the aftermath of the flood.

To make a financial donation for the flood victims, please e-mail us at kreformed@gmail.com. Your help will be much appreciated.
